In case you missed it or we needed to clarify, breakfast and lunch will be available to ALL Riverdale Local Schools students at no cost. This program is subsidized by the USDA and the Federal Summer Food Service Program and is scheduled to run through December 31, 2020. This program applies to complete meals only. If students choose to buy only a milk that does not apply and they will be charged for the cost of the milk. If they choose to purchase a full meal, which includes milk, the meal is provided at no cost. Also, any ala carte items do not apply, but these items can be purchased separately. The USDA has announced this program may be canceled before December 31st if funding is depleted. Should the free breakfast and lunch program be canceled before this date, parents will be notified. Because of the possibility of the program being canceled, it is IMPORTANT for parents to still complete the free and reduced lunch application for all eligible students for the 2020-21SY. This form needs to be completed by September 30th. This form can be downloaded from our website, just search “Free Application" in the search.

Don't forget that the Library in Forest has fast internet service.  The WiFi reaches the parking lot and we are also taking 2-hr appointments for students to work in the meeting room.  We have also set up a WiFi hotspot in Mt. Blanchard at the village office behind the grocery store.  We are working with HDER Link to set up another WiFi hotspot in Wharton. Beginning Monday we are open as usual (with a limit of 10 patrons in the library at once.)

It is a state mandate that everyone attending an extracurricular event wear a mask and socially distance. This applies to not only home events, but away events as well. Admittance to a contest may be refused if a face covering is not worn. Inspectors will be attending events and may stop the game or even shut the season down for that sport if they believe the school is not enforcing the mandate. We want our students to be able to have these events, and I am sure all the parents do as well. We understand that there are many different views and opinions about the wearing of masks. We respect everyone's opinion. Please understand that this is a state mandate we must follow, not a Riverdale policy. Thank you to everyone in advance for your cooperation. Please contact the school if you have any questions.

In an effort to eliminate over spending on notifications, Riverdale has consolidated to one database for a call system and text system. We noticed the call came from Little Rock, Arkansas. We are looking into changing the caller ID tag for you. What does this mean for you? What are your options? 1. If you want a phone call for delays and cancellations, you will also get a text.  Conversely if you want a text, you will also get a call.   2. If you only got a text last year, we no longer have access to that database. If you want to receive text notifications and a phone call, please let us know by emailing Mr. DeMotte at jdemotte@rdfalcons.net .  3. You can download the Riverdale app in your app store and receive push notifications for Riverdale, this will include delays and cancellations.  If you are looking for just text notifications one option is to sign up with WFIN for their school delay/cancellation text. Here is the link https://delays.wfin.com/  https://my.textcaster.com/asa/default.aspx?ID=351944bb-ee78-4618-9c6c-25ca2479b337 To recap, here are all the ways you can find out about school delays and cancellations.  Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/RiverdaleLocalSchools/ Twitter  https://twitter.com/riverdale_local Live Feed on the Website  https://www.riverdale.k12.oh.us/ Call/text system  WFIN or other media text system Push notifications via the Riverdale App  (search Riverdale Apptegy in the app store) TV and Radio Stations  If at any time time you want on or off the call/text list please email Mr. DeMotte at jdemotte@rdfalcons.net
