Update

September 24, 2021

I hope this message finds you doing well. It is hard to believe that we have already been in school for one month!

The goal of this update is to inform you as parents on COVID related information.

During our first month of school we have been monitoring any COVID cases in the school. We send out notifications to parents whose child(ren) may have been in contact with the positive person. It is important to note that the health department will issue any quarantines. The health department’s quarantine measures are still in place for those who are unvaccinated, unmasked and are in close contact with someone with COVID for 15 minutes or more.

If you are concerned with your son or daughter being placed into quarantine there is a way to avoid it. If your child wears a mask or is vaccinated they will not be in quarantine.

With all of this in mind, we do encourage students to wear a mask to limit the spread of COVID and it limits the chances of being placed into quarantine.

Please know that we respect parental decisions on whether or not to send their children to school wearing a mask and whether or not their children receive the COVID vaccine based upon their personal circumstances and preference. In the building, wearing or not wearing a mask is a personal choice, please respect the choice.

You can find more information on our COVID Resources page on the website by clicking “COVID Resources” which is under the “OTHER” tab or click HERE.

Our collective goal is to provide the best school experience, in and outside the classroom for our students. Any plans we have in place could change abruptly based on local health circumstances and state or federal mandates. While our hope is that we can greatly reduce the risk of infections at school, it is important to remember that there will always be risk regardless of the plans we have in place.

We greatly appreciate the patience of our families and community as we forge through the school year.

Yours in Education,

Jeff Young
