The Riverdale Local School District Return to School Committee continues to meet weekly to discuss plans, recommendations and guidance for the safe return of students and staff to school in the fall. We are also in communication with Hancock Public Health and the other school districts in Hancock County, Hardin County, and Wyandot County. Since the school building is located in Hancock County we will be following the guidance and recommendations of the Hancock County Public Health Department.

We all find ourselves in an ever changing state of flux. Our goal was to release our plan this week; however, we received new information from the County Public Health Department. The new information brought on changes to our plan. We hope to communicate our completed Return to School Plan in early August.

The framework of our Return to School Plan will have options. If things go as currently expected, we will be providing a survey to families to select the option of in-person five days per week education or an online learning option that we call Riverdale Virtual Learning Academy. Please begin to have these conversations at home in anticipation of receiving that survey.

Please continue to check the website for updates. We appreciate your patience as we try to continue to move forward.

If you have any questions or concerns feel, free to contact me at school either via email at jyoung@rdfalcons.net or by phone 419-694-4994. Some questions may not have answers at this time, but every attempt will be made to provide direction.

Yours in Education,

Jeff Young
