UPDATED: March 13, 2020
Dear Parents and Staff:
For the past several weeks we have been working closely with the Hancock and Hardin County Health Departments, monitoring and taking guidance as we progress through the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine mandated a school closure for a period of three weeks. Riverdale Schools will be CLOSED starting Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, April 3, 2020.
Effective March 13, 2020: The Riverdale Local Schools will be operating under the following guidelines:
- All field trips at this point are suspended for an indefinite period of time. Out of district travel will occur only with permission by the superintendent or designee.
- All after school indoor and weekend activities/events are suspended for an indefinite period of time. This includes all previously scheduled approved building permit indoor events.
- All extra-curricular activities and practices are suspended indefinitely during the mandatory school closures. All activities will cease effective 12:01 A.M. on March 14, 2020.
- Students should be prepared for remote learning curriculum options if deemed necessary. You will be notified next week how those assignments will be received.
We appreciate the continued support and understanding as we deal with a situation that truly is unprecedented and continues to evolve. The district will continue to watch developments and take the appropriate steps necessary to protect our students, staff, and school community.
The District will use text messages, voice messages, push notifications, the Riverdale Local Schools app, Facebook, and Twitter to communicate all updates.
Yours in Education,
