Mrs. Woodruff

Hello! My name is Mrs. Woodruff, and I am an 8th grade literature and English teacher at Riverdale Local Schools. I double as a mentor teacher, and I coach U8 soccer for girls. I have been teaching for 13 years, but this is my first year teaching at Riverdale. I also have a job as a full time mom! I have 4 children, Andrew who is 9, Allison who is 8, Annalese who is 6, Adelynn who is 3, and my spouse Mike.

I graduated from Bluffton College with a bachelor's degree and a liberal art's degree in education with concentrations in language arts and social studies. I graduated with a master's degree in middle childhood education at Walden University. I decided to go into education because I've always been intrigued with learning new material, and I love working with kids! I like talking to the students about their extracurricular activities and going to their sporting events as a way to connect with them. I get so excited and feel accomplished when I have a student who finally "gets it" or when I have a total turn-around with their attitudes toward education and start applying themselves.

Some of my hobbies include going to my kids' sporting events to cheer them on. I also coach girls soccer. I enjoy reading (well, when I get the chance!). My favorite authors are Agatha Christie and Mary Higgins Clark-- both queens of mystery!  I also enjoy traveling! My favorite country to visit is Spain!

Favorite Quote: "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."
